Italian industrial designer Michele Puzzolante's plan for a self-powered, floating luxury hotel suite (below) has brought a lot of attention to the idea of your own private island. It's a concept picked up by the superyacht industry, Orsos Islands being the first to make the personal getaway pods vaguely affordable. Though their prototype (above, below) is still under construction, it's said that the public will have their first up close look in 2013. Until then, you can see more of each below:
