From now until September, New York luxury residence brand AKA is offering a city-spin on a not so urban trend. Introducing... rooftop glamping. Only one block from its namesake, AKA Central Park offers a Sleep Under the Stars experience which treats guests to queen-sized outdoor bed on the wraparound terrace of its 17th floor penthouse.
Amenities include a wood-burning fireplace, high-tech telescope, a Nook loaded with pre-selected campfire stories and, of course, fire-side snacks done gourmet (think Jacque Torres s'mores, cocktails and champagne). For those of you still on edge about "roughing it," there's one last creature-comfort to set this glamping site apart from the rest... a 42-inch plasma screen TV with DVD player.
